We’re looking for a weather forecaster to join our UK team as a Consultant Meteorologist on a 12 Month fixed term arrangement.

Working remotely within our UK based team, you’ll deliver tailored weather intelligence to organisations including marine, retail, media, energy and other sectors, helping them to respond confidently to changing conditions and mange operational risk.

This is a role that blends high-quality operational forecasting with meaningful client engagement. Your insight, judgement, and communication skills will make a visible difference to client outcomes and help share the value we deliver.

The role requires flexibility to participate in rotational shift patterns. Shifts are worked during weekdays on either am or pm shift, or as a longer single shift on weekend days. The role averages 40 hours per week and does not include night shifts. Rosters are determined by the manager and communicated in advance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Produce, monitor, verify and archive accurate high-quality forecasts, reports, briefings and data files tailored for EMEA commercial clients.
  • Provide flexible, on-demand forecast guidance and operational decision support during aligned to client industry needs and contractual commitments.
  • Provide credible decision support during impactful weather events in collaboration with Meteorological Operations and Customer and Commercial teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert interpretation of weather forecasts, weather events, and associated operational risks.
  • Support our global Customer and Commercial teams with market-facing weather and climate advice, training, and client presentations on operational meteorological issues, in particular those in the UK.
  • Monitor forecast performance and support continuous improvement of services.
  • Recommend improvements to forecasting tools, products, and processes

    About you

    • An appropriate university degree and meteorological training to WMO Meteorologist standard, with strong knowledge of operational forecasting techniques and numerical weather prediction.
    • Experience in operational weather forecasting, ideally in marine, retail, aviation, energy, or other commercially focused environments.
    • Strong grounding in modern meteorological theory, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, practical advice.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident engaging both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
    • A strong client focus, with the credibility to build trusted relationships and represent the business professionally.
    • Able to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and manage competing priorities effectively.
    • Collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working across teams in a distributed environment.
    • Confidence using Microsoft Office and operating effectively in a remote, client-facing role.
    • Flexibility to participate in rotational shift patterns and travel occasionally when required.
